Phil Derner

Phil Derner joined NBAA in 2018 as the Western regional representative after 13 years working as a loadmaster, dispatcher, and in operations management of Part 121, Part 121 Supplemental, Part 135 and Part 91 operations. He also owned and operated a New York City-based aviation news and consulting business for 14 years before moving to Southern California. Derner’s industry expertise extends to media and television, where he has consulted and appeared as an aviation analyst for renowned outlets like CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, BBC, History Channel, National Geographic and more. Based in California, Derner represents Alaska, Arizona, California, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Virginia, Washington and West Virginia.
